Painting People: The Portrait to the Clothed Figure

In this 8-session oil painting class, we will work each week with a live model, beginning with the portrait and working toward including the whole (clothed) figure. We will start by exploring limited palettes to hone our color mixing while building our understanding of light and shadow, temperature, form, and basic human anatomy. As the class moves on, students will have the freedom to explore their preferred palettes, oil painting mediums, and styles in a guided environment. This class will be a good introduction for students who are new to oil painting, but it also has a lot to offer for experienced painters looking to practice their observational painting and portrait painting skills. The class is open to ages 14 and up.
Students who select the starter supplies will have all materials needed at the studio & ready for them to use. View the starter supply list to see what is provided in these kits.

Cancellations must be emailed to atwoodatelier@gmail.com at least 1 week prior to the first session to receive full credit (valid for 12 months) for a future class OR a refund to the credit card used minus a 15% fee.
