Are you curious about soft pastels (aka chalk pastels) and want to learn more? Join us for this workshop to discover the creative possibilities of pastels and learn techniques to make this unique medium work for you! With plenty of hands-on time to play, experiment, ask questions, and get feedback, we’ll cover:

• How pastels can be both a drawing and painting medium

• How a little color theory goes a long way when using (and shopping for!) pastels

• How to work safely and protect your pieces for longevity

• Why your paper choices make a difference

In addition to some exploratory drawing exercises, we’ll also have opportunities to work from still life materials (provided) or your own photo references.
