During this 8 week, beginner friendly course, students will gradually build toward dynamic sketching. 

The class will begin with gathering gesture, mapping values, and achieving “an eye” for capturing the realistic figure. Model poses will gradually incorporate items of foreshortening and relational perspectives. There will be a live (clothed) model for the first 2 weeks, and well as the final 3 weeks of class.

Students will have several at home exercises to apply techniques outside of class. 

By the end of this course, students will have developed strengths in drawing from life, a strong relationship to materials, and a deeper understanding of the realistic form. 

Class size is limited to 12 students.
