Hands can be one of the trickiest body parts for artists–and with 27 bones and 34 muscles in each one, it’s no wonder! But hands can also say a lot, and gaining confidence depicting them can add greatly to your portraits and figures. In this workshop, we’ll discuss hand anatomy, how to simplify and depict the hand’s structures, and the importance of gesture and movement. We’ll practice using both photos and our own hands as references.
