Instructor: Ryan Haimerl (@haimertime)
Saturday, April 10th
9:30am - 4:30pm (with a 1 hour lunch break)
This oil painting workshop is focused on how to create expressive and believable paintings from life using a limited palette of colors. By working with just a few carefully chosen pigments, students will explore color mixing, value, and the relationships between light and shadow. Students will be working from a live model with demonstrations and hands-on guidance. An emphasis will be placed on learning to paint “alla prima” and how a limited palette can help streamline this process. This workshop is great for beginners or artists with some experience.
